“Ronin” is a Japanese word that is commonly used to refer to a warrior with no master. We prefer to see it as a being one’s own master. We refuse to accept something as true until we have thoroughly tested it under a variety of circumstances. This means we encourage everyone training with us to understand the techniques, study the concepts, and then pressure test the lessons with a non-compliant partner. And through this crucible, you will develop the reflexes to adapt on the fly when things seem to be going wrong.
